We are traveling to E Europe next March. Our stay in Vienna was to be March 17-20th but can't seen to get reservations. What is going on there at that time? Any idea what that might be? And what reasonably priced hotel do you recommend there or in a nearby area?

I got a great deal on priceline.com by bidding on 4 & 5-star hotels for a 3-night stay in May. You can check out recent bids on biddingfortravel.com
I was also very pleased with the hotel in Prague - same trip.

In Vienna I recommend pensione Kraml. It's run very professionally, the rooms are large, spotless and comfortable, and the breakfast is great with more variety than you would usually get in a hotel. Two years ago in November I paid around 50 euros for a double. Although it's inexpensive, it's not a magnet for young party travelers. Most of the guests were over 30 years old.
