Spending 3 nights in Vienna--my dad was an opera buff, so a bit familiar--should I try and get tickets? The schedule has 2 operas that I at least recognize.

An enthusiastic YES. We had no experience with opera at all but went in Budapest mostly because we had read about the opera house and we were staying very near to it. We enjoyed it very much and would go again.

We went in both Budapest and Vienna. We are not "opera buffs" but enjoy the theatre. I would go, especially if you can snag some cheap seats.
