Is the euro accepted in the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland or do I need to take each country's currency?
The three countries still use their own currencies. Many merchants MAY accept Euros, but you will find you will get a very poor exchange rate from them. Far better to use a local ATM to get the local currency.
hungary accepts both currencies, i myself have used them there. you can exchange your euros at any exchange booth to get forints, keep your eye on the rates as they vary daily.
No, I'm sorry Barry, that's not correct. Hungary's official currency is still the forint. As I said earlier, many merchants MAY accept Euros, but people will get an extremely poor exchange rate compared to using the forint.
My husband & I will be in Egypt for 2 days (on a cruise). What kind of currency do they use?
Egyptian Pounds. As with Europe, you can get local currency from ATM's there.
Thanks everyone. I think I will bring a bit of each currency to start and then find an ATM to get more later.
Are ATM's easy to find in these countries?
