There are plenty of food markets, and locals sell their produce in an open-air market in the little "park" on the main street of Parikia across from the water close to the ferry dock. You can't miss it. "Cash is king" but credit cards are being accepted more and more. Just ask first. There are lots of ATMs in Parikia for cash. For local calls use a Vodafone or Cosmote SIM card. If you don't already have a phone that works in Greece you can buy an unlocked quadband GSM world phone very cheaply on eBay. Also, there is a Germanos Store in the Athens Airport where you can buy a phone that will work in Greece that comes with a Cosmote SIM for less than €50 plus extra for more minutes. You can add minutes as needed from local stores on Paros. I don't know anything about international calling except it's not cheap. If you need to call home a lot look into a service such as Mastercall. Have you seen THIS?

Remember it is 90 days without a special visa and not three months unless it is Jan, Feb, and March in a non leap year.

Hey Kelly!
Looks as if u go to Miami of Ohio, great school. Are you already in Paros, you don't say (more facts = better advice). For all kinds of basic advice, I suggest you go to this website: http://www.parosparadise.com/ it's run by a couple Michael & Karin Shepherd (he's american) who lived on Paros for 10+ years; I think they just this year left but still have place there. Use the "contact" e-mail they have ALL the answers to practical questions, very willing to help, not just after room-bookings; if they aren't in Paros now, they'll hook you up with some English speaking locals who will supply all the practical info. Enjoy your 3 months... hope some is during warmer "beach" weather. Do not neglect (in season from May- Sept) to use they day-excursion vessel HM Alexander... for 54€ you can go to Delos/Myknos for a day, or Santorini.
