This idea has just occurred to me and since I have only just considered it I would welcome any feedback. We are thinking of taking the train from Munich/Salzburg to Slovenia and spending two days in Bled or any small village. Ideally we want to be close to the Julian Alps to do some hiking. First, will two days be enough to enjoy a bit of the area? And is there any village you would recommend? I have not yet done any research but Pokljuka
seems nice. I would welcome any suggestions for hotels/pensions etc. Thanks so much for you help.

What sort of feedback are you looking for?
The train should be straight forward.
Thanks Arnold. The train is straight forward and I have already covered that. I was thinking of places to stay etc. Thanks!
Lake Bled is a good location to get into the Julian Alps. Having a car would be perfect for covering this area. You can see details and pictures of our trip at:

Wow! What lovely shots. Thank you, Mark.I am thinking that maybe I should do just my trip to Germany and Austria this year and leave Slovenia and Croatia for next year. They both seem to warrant more than a few days. But I will see. Thank you for sharing your photos. They will help me make my final decision.Kindest regards.
Really beautiful pictures I had to say this. Slovenia now on my radar screen.
