Be sure to go to your local AAA office to pick up an International Driving Permit, no test required. If you get in an accident and don't have one your insurance will be invalidated, you'll be in serious trouble with the police and you will have to come up with cash on the spot to pay for any damage to the vehicles involved. ALWAYS take out the local maximum insurance coverage, don't rely on your own personal insurance to be of any help to you overseas.
