We need to get from Dubrovnik to Budapest. What is the best way by air.

We just got back two weeks ago. We started in Budapest and then traveled to Dubronvik. No direct airlines, or nothing that we could afford. So, what we did was take the train, 6 hours to Zagreb and then got out the airport and flew on Croatia Airlines. Then the cost was reasonable.

Hi George,
We did something similar to Siranna's suggestion. We took a train from Budapest to Ljubljana Slovenia and spent a few days. Then took a morning train from Ljubljana to Zagreb and caught an afternoon flight to Dubrovnik on Air Croatia.

You could also try out a discount airline like SkyEurope and see how far they will get you and then take a train - this should in general save some time.

Hi!
Train to Zagreb and then Croatia Airline to DBV...don't forget to check the baggage allowance as you are flying inter Europe...we actually upgraded to 1st class because it was sooo cheap and that gave us extra kilos
