In the past, there have been some questions about the quality of Easy Cruise and I'm here now to report on our trip from September 6-13. It was absolutely fabulous. The ship was very clean and comfortable. The decor was very tasteful, sort of a dark gray, modern minimalist look, with very little of orange as an accent color. The other passengers (all ages, but mostly over 50, mainly from Greece and England)we talked with were all in agreement that Easy Cruise was a huge value and a great new concept. We got to stay on each of the islands and Bodrum, Turkey until the wee hours of the morning, unlike most other cruise lines. Easy Cruise had none of the shows, casinos and entertainment of standard cruise lines, making the lovely Greek islands the focus. It was one of the most relaxing, enjoyable vacations we've ever been on and definitely the most affordable.
Thank you for posting your review of Easy Cruise! I've been very curious about it and really happy to hear that you had such a good experience.
I actually preferred it to past cruises on Royal Caribbean. We didn't need to bring fancy clothes for formal nights and didn't have all that hectic busy-ness associated with traditional ships. It was just everything we needed, in a simple, relaxing format. We purchased the "half-board" meal plan (at the time $105 per person for the 7 days) which included breakfast daily and either lunch or dinner each day. The food was surprisingly good (nothing super fancy like traditional cruises)but often Greek and nicely presented, again, a good value. And happy hour every day was very popular...a great place to relax on the deck with 1/2 price drinks and look at the harbor. With the exception of Mykonos (the ship docked at the new harbor and required a shuttle ride into town), every other day the ship was docked just steps away from the lovely towns, making trips back and forth from the ship so easy. Unlike most other ships, we didn't run up many other expenses while on board. It was a frugal traveler's dream!
Now, if they'd only return to the Caribbean! :(
Yeah...Loved Greece and would sign up for another in a heartbeat if they would add back some more of their past destinations.
