Anyone have any wonderful restaurants to recommend in Budapest?
Hi Linda,
We liked the Central Kavehaz--a good traditional cafe near Vaci utca (www.centralkavehaz.hu/index.php?mid=1&LangID=2)
In Pest, Gerbeaud is great for a salad, sandwich, or light meal. On the Buda side, Horgasztanya is a Fisherman's Pub that was fun with good traditional food, and Le Jardin de Paris was very nice as well--great desserts!
We loved our lunch at Bisulo Juhasz on Buda Hill with tremendous views of St. Mathias, the palace, and surrounding sights.
It's a traditional Hungarian restaurant at Kelenhegyi ut. 58
My husband & I went to Budapest last month & ate at Fatal Restaurant situated on Vaci Utca 67. The hotel had recommended it to us. It has traditional Hungarian food. The serves are big. We made the mistake of having soup first. I had mushroom soup which was delicious & came in a huge bowl. We both had duck with red cabbage & dumplings. Also delicious but so much we couldn't finish. It's downstairs & resembles the dungeon of an old castle. Great atmosphere.
