16 Days: Munich-CK-Prague-Krakow-Budapest-Vienna

My wife and I fly in to Munich early morning of Sept. 25 and leave from there noon of Oct. 11. I need to visit family for 3 nights in the countryside of Hungary but aside from that I'm flexible. Right now I'm thinking of this itinerary: Sept. 25: Arrive Munich. Shuttle to Cesky Krumlov. Sept. 26: Bus to Prague Sept. 28: overnight train to Krakow Oct. 1: overnight train to Budapest then straight to visit relatives Oct. 4: train back to Budapest Oct. 7: train to Vienna Oct. 10: train to Munich
Oct. 11: fly back Am I trying to do too much? Should I substitute Karlovy Vary for Cesky Krumlov? Any chance I can squeeze in Salzburg? Do my transportation choices make sense?

Just for the heck of it, I put your itinerary into Google maps. It's 2400 km. Then I left out Krakow - down to 1700 km. If you drop Krakow, you could easily fit in Salzburg, since it's on the way from Vienna to Munich. Shuttle (?) to CK - google says it's 300 km and 3.5 hours. Planning on an overnight train depends a lot on how sound a sleeper you are, and if you have to get up in the middle of the night to go through passport control and/or change trains.

I must admit I am puzzled by your choice of Munich, if you aren't planning to visit the area at all.

Munich is the closest my preferred airline will get me to Hungary. For this trip, I'm more willing to give up seeing more of Austria since we could pair that with Germany which we haven't done yet. Don't know if that makes any sense.

The overnight trains I'm targeting are direct trains (no transfers). And yes we are sound sleepers so I'm hoping it won't be too bad
