Senior Travelers to Greece

We're looking for an island to settle in for a month or two, where we don't need a car and can find lots to see and do with in a smaller area. Hoping not to go stir crazy. Thanks, everyone

Jane, you don't say when you are going... makes a difference. Lee is right, Paros & Naxos are good choices for a month stay, best to stay near the Port towns ... especially if Off season (April-May or late Sept into Oct); that's where most activity will be centered; both islands have permanent populations so are vibrant in off-season. There's another big plus. From most Greek isles it's hard to do day-trips, because ferry schedules are not set up to make them quick or easy. However, on Paros/Naxos there are TWO companies with dedicated excursion vessels set up for day trips. One popular trip is to Santorini, another to Delos & Mykonos -- both go 2x a week between May & late Sept. Boats leave 8 or 9 am, depart late afternoon arrive back to your home island for dinner, cost €55. On Santorini, also provide pvt bus transport around th island while there. Of the 2 boats, Naxos Star & MV Alexander, latter is larger, has smoother ride. You can get weather report the day before u want to go & if it's favorable, just buy tickets at harborside.

Paros or Naxos would be good for you. They both have lots to see and do and excellent bus service. If you stay on Paros you can take the local shuttle ferry across to Antiparos as well.
