10 Days in Greece

I'll be traveling with my husband from Italy and we would like to spend 8-10 days in Greece. What do you all recommend? Mykonos, Santorini, Athens? Hotel/B&B suggestions in Mykonos or Santorini? thanks!!!

A good place to start would be with T. Cook's "Greek Island Hopping". Every island has something unique to offer. I love Santorini but Mykonos is very popular, especially if you like nightlife. Santorini has nightlife too but Mykonos is famous for it. Of course Athens is worth a couple of days if you're interested in Ancient Greece architecture and history. Otherwise, not. Without knowing how you want to spend your time it's almost impossible to make recommendations of where you should go or what you should see. As for hotel/B&B suggestions, first choose an island and then tell us what your travel dates will be and most importantly, what your maximum daily room budget will be, expressed in EURO.

We loved Chelidonia Villas in Oia on Santorini. Best meal was a multi-course tasting menu at Kyprida.

I agree. Chelidonia Villas is an excellent choice for Oia as long as you don't require a swimming pool.

Visit Meteora monastries on the rocks. Look on the internet for photos and descriptions. Do not miss this. Do you want quiet islands and hotels or noise or nightlife - ferries or airports? Budget? I have just stayed in about 15-20 greekislands in 50 days - they all differ. What do you wants? Natural beauty? Look on internet - search to find information and be specific in your question.

Thanks everyone! We want quiet and also a little bit of nightlife. I'm thinking about Milos-looks beeautiful! Do you have to rent a car on the islands to get around and to get to the beautiful beaches?

Most islands have public transportation to take you to various beaches and other parts of the island; depending on when you're going, there may be boats as well as buses available. When we're on an island for 3 or 4 days, we always like to rent a car for a day, to allow us to explore on our own. Car rentals are easily available (usually near the ferry dock) and relatively inexpensive. It's easy to drive on these small islands. Be sure to bring an International Driver's Permit if you plan to do this.
