10 days in Croatia Ininerary

I am traveling to Croatia in May and am wondering about the amount of time to stay in certain towns. We fly into Zagreb (and are debating taking the time to see Plitvice Lakes) and then flying to Dubrovnik and planning on making our way up the coast with 4 additional days in the end in Venice. We want to see:
Hvar, Korcula, Trojir, one night in Mostar, Bosnia...and maybe Zadar? Maybe a night in Slovenia to see the caves on our way to Venice? Any suggestions???

Plitvice Lakes are a wonder. I would DEFINITELY plan to see them. Why not rent a car and drive from Zagreb to Dubrovnik? That way, you go through PL, and can see some of the country too. It's a nice drive, maybe 6-7 hours - not short, but not that long either. I'd stay overnight near PL, get there FIRST thing in the morning, do the Upper Lakes and then the Lower Lakes (see RS Guidebook), and then drive in the afternoon to Dubrovnik or Split or something. We did that last summer - we spent 6 hours in PL (even with my wife who is a slow walker we saw everything), and then drove to Split, getting there about 6:30 - not even rushing that much. Croatia is a fine place for driving, although some drivers in the mountains are lunatics.

I think Paul is right about Plitvice. I considered it a must on our trip to Croatia and Slovenia. It is only 2 hours away from Zagreb. We rented a car in Zagreb(Active Rent a Car), drove down and spent the night and returned the next afternoon to Zagreb. If you spend only 1 night in Slovenia then consider Ljublana. Very nice. Lake Bled is another choice and very beautiful.
