HI, I am travelling in January. I fly into Zurich arriving at 8.40am. I will take the train from Zurich Airport to Geneva Airport and then private transportation (shared with others) to Morzine France. The trip from Geneva to Morzine has to be booked in advance.
Should I book my train travel in advance or just get a train ticket when I arrive - I will have a deadline to meet my transportation in Genva.
There are 2 direct trains every day at 8 and 48 past the hour taking a little over 3 hours. No advantage to booking in advance. You could save money by buying a Saver Day Pass now for about 88 CHF vs 172 CHF for a ticket bought when you arrive.

The Saver Day Pass allows you to take any train that day to anywhere in Switzerland.
