I want to organise a trip to Switzerland with a landing in Zurich. I want to spend 3-4 days in Switzerland and then go to Milan. But I think that transport in Switzerland is very expensive. What would be the total cost according to this planning? I plan to stay in Zurich and then go to Lucerne for the day.

Your request is very vague. I suggest you go to the websites for the train services in Switzerland and Italy and work out your routes and see what the fares are. Also try The Man in Seat 61 (www.seat61.com) for information and guidance.

Or for a rough idea, put an itinerary into Google and ask for train prices.
You can also use Rome2rio.
Every little thing in Switzerland is expensive, but it's worth it (to most people).

It will depend what you want to do while you are in Switzerland. The best views require either gondolas or trains. You need to price those out. Download the SBB app. Also look at the Swiss Travel Pass. I would also research what you want to see in Switzerland. Is there a reason you are basing in Zurich as opposed to being up in the alps?

Are you spending a night in Lucerne on your way to Milan? Planning to travel from Zurich to Milan in a single day, with a a few hours in Lucerne?
How far ahead you buy tickets can have a significant affect on ticket prices.
