Our flight to Europe is scheduled to land at the Zurich airport at 1:00 pm. We have reservations for lodging that evening in Konstanz, Germany. We will be relying on trains for our travel. I would love to see Zurich, but do you think we have enough time to make it worth it? See that it is just a 15 min. train ride from the airport to the city and about 1hour 30 min from Zurich to Konstanz. If I am interpreting the information I found correctly I think we can catch the train to Konstanz from the main train station and so would not need to go back to the airport. We are also hoping there are luggage lockers at the train station where we could safely leave our backpacks if we do choose to go into the city. Is 3 or 4 hours in Zurich worth the extra hassle? Any tips appreciated. Thank you.
Zurich is worth a few hours to explore, certainly worth it as a brief detour before moving on to Konstanz. The main church has stained glass windows by Chagall. The Swiss National Museum is also pretty interesting and it is right next to the downtown train station (where you can stash your backpacks). And it's fun to window-shop.
