Rick suggested Swiss Chocolate Hotel. Here’s the problem. The owner owns 3 hotels. He controls the AC and heat remotely. So here we are in a hot and stuffy room and cannot use AC. The nice guy at the front desk offered a fan. But for $680 for 2 nights, should have AC at a minimum. The room is postage stamp size as well. So avoid this place and Rick: got to remove this place from your book. Thx.
I normally check out various sites for hotel reviews rather than just depend on Rick Steve’s recommendations. And we have found on our trips to different countries that most places in Europe have a different standard in air conditioning than we do in the US. We watched a RS Monday night zoom on Berlin a couple of nights ago and the featured Berlin guide just happened to talk about a/c in European hotels…..”if you want the cold a/c you find in the US, you are probably going to have to stay in the big 5 star hotels.” Sorry…..
