Zurich area for 3+ days

Hello! My husband & I will arrive late evening in Zurich on May 11. We fly out of Zurich early May 15. We would like to visit Lucerne & the Lauterbrunnen Valley. Anyone care to throw an itinerary down? Don't care about shopping, just want to see the sights & have some good food & drinks. We can hike and even though I am terrified of heights, I want to do see the sights I can see. If a train pass is suggested, would the 3 day Swiss Travel pass be the way to go or choose other option? This is a last minute trip and I don't even have places to stay booked yet!!! So we are very flexible of where to go, do & stay. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Danke! Grazie

Hear is a rough draft:
Buy the Swiss Travel Pass 3 or 4 day. Use it the evening you arrive to go to Luzern or just buy a ticket to Luzern and a 3 day Swiss Travel pass to start on May 12.

Stay in Luzern May 11, 12, 13, and based on the weather forecast the day off take daytrips to Mt. Rigi, Lauterbrunnen Valley area (the scenic route), Lake Brienz, Stanserhorn. These as well as most museums are all covered by the Swiss Travel Pass. Depending on what time you leave on May 15th, consider checking out of your hotel in Luzern on the 14th and checking your baggage with your hotel or at Luzern train station and take daytrips. Then take the train to Zurich and stay at a hotel near the airport.

So you will stay in Zurich on the nights of May 11 and of May 14. Reverse this itinerary if the weather will be better on the 14th.

May 12 - catch an early train to Lauterbrunnen (2.5 hrs) and spend the afternoon going up to the Jungfraujoch on the train (it's expensive but worth it).
May 13 - take the funicular up above Lauterbrunnen and take a walk along the valley to Murren for lunch. If the weather wasn't good for the Jungfraujoch you can go up to the Schilthorn from Murren. Take the gondola (?) back down and hike back to Lautervrunnen for the afternoon and catch an evening train to Lucerne. 2 + hours. OR there is a small train line from Murren back to the funicular if you wish to keep your feet on the ground.
May 14 - tour Lucerne and if the weather is good take a boat along the Lake to its south end. You can catch a train back if you don't want more boating. Catch a late train back to Zurich. The main station is under the airport.

We arrive about 10 pm on Saturday the 11th & fly out early morning on the 15th - both from Zurich.
I had read the gondola is not operational until June. ???
