We land in Zurich at 6:30 am and wondered about taking a train into Constance, Germany to ride the ferry. Any tips on whether or not this is a good idea? It looks like we can arrive there in about 1.5 hrs. so we thought why not?

Ride the ferry to where? Meersburg? Friedrichshafen?
There is a train every 30 minutes from the the airport. The ones at 46 past the hour are direct and the ones at 16 past the hour require a short connection. Either way, its just over an hour.
