Zermatt to Chamonix

Having trouble finding train connections between Zermatt and Chamonix for early October 2023. Does anyone know if this is a seasonal route? I

You’re checking too far ahead of time. On SBB, you can check a date closer to today to see the route as that usually doesn’t change.

It looks like you go from Zermatt to Visp to Martigny to Vallorcine to Chamonix. Total time 3 hours and 32 minutes.

You need to be aware that SBB will often default to routing this trip north and west from Martigny via the north shore of Lake Geneva to Geneva and then south toward Chamonix . You will need to specify Martigny - Chatelard Le Frontiere ( or Vallorcine ) - Chamonix . From Maritgny due west through The Trient Gorge , The Mont Blanc Express completes the route you will want . That last leg is stunning , sit on the left side of the train , after the train makes its initial climb to Salvan for the best views .
