The Swiss Tourist sites list the Nyon area as having lots of wineries nearby, but I can't tell if it is possible to simply take a ferry from Lausanne to Nyon, get off and visit tasting rooms and wineries that are walkable, or a short cab ride from the dock. I do not want to get a rental car and drive, for obvious reason. What is the best approach?
Have you seen the Lavaux vineyards before? If not, they're much more spectacular than those around Noon, and closer to Lausanne.
Can we take a ferry to Cully and then walk to the vineyards and tasting rooms? Do we need a taxi?
You can take ferries, trains, buses, but watch out: the vineyards are VERY steep. Best to start from Chexbres and walk down. I can't advise about specific wineries.
Can we take a ferry to Cully
The dock at Cully (lac) is currently closed for construction. I happened to notice this when i was checking the boat times for my June trip. According to SBB, that dock will be closed until the first of Sept.
