Can you join the William Tell Express midway to Luzern? Heading from St Moritz to Luzern on Sunday, May 4. Leaving St. Moritz in the morning on the Glacier Express but planning for now to get off in Andermatt unless you have a better suggestion. We have a Eurorail Global pass.
Also, after our night in St. Moritz we are currently planning 2 nights in Luzern, 2 nights in Interlaken and 1 night in either Montreux or Lausanne. We could also spend an extra day in Interlaken and just stop in Montreux/Lausanne on the way to Geneva. Any suggestions. We leave for home from Geneva very eary on Saturday, May 10. We start our trip in Germany then Austria before heading to Switzerland. We have most of these details worked out based on Rick Steves' suggestions. This our 2nd trip following Rick Steves'. The 1st trip in Paris and several cities in Italy was outstanding. Thanks
Yes, you can make that connection. For instance, depart St. Moritz at 9:00 and make just 2 connections at Andermatt and Goshenen. When you get Train Schedules Online, request from St. Moritz to Luzern and also follow the small link to add a "stopover" in Andermatt, to help define the route you want.
Although many people stay only two nights Interlaken or Lauterbrunnen, with a full day to explore lifts and hikes, there is a risk of weather clouding your views. Staying a third night there helps you to relax more and to hedge your weather bets.
