Wildflower hikes in August?

We are going to be In Switzerland from July 27-August 9. We will be mostly in the Berner Oberland, but also visiting Zweisimmen and the Appenzell region. Can anyone recommend hikes where we might be able to view wildflowers so late in the summer? Thank you!

My first three trips to Switzerland were in late July to the end of August. I recall being disappointed as the only wildflowers I saw were the dried flowers of the Silberdistel: : https://de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silberdistel

Our fourth trip was in late June. The flowers were out---beautiful but not abundent.

Honestly, as a former botanist I would not consider the Swiss Alps a prime wildflower destination. The cows eat the plants and flowers in most of he meadows. And by mid-August most are gone. But there is much to love in Switzerland, even if you miss the flowers.

Edit: in the Berner Oberland, you could try the walk between Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg. Or high up on the Schilthorn where the snow lingers later (we have never had weather good enough for that hike so cannot speak from experiennce). And the Panoramaweg from Schynige Platte to First. There is an alpine garden at Schynige Platte, although few flowers were left when we saw it in mid-August. Even without flowers, the views from the hike are terrific.

Thank you Lola for your reply. As we get closer to our arrival date In July, if anyone finds an area that still has wildflowers, please let us know! Thank you.

Although it's probably not what you're envisioning, Switzerland has an abundance of teeny tiny alpine flowers up in the mountains. They are extremely small and grow among the rocks and moss at high elevations. I have enjoyed photographing them over the years...they are so exquisite, beautiful, and the variety is surprising!
