Which is the best travel pass for us

Hello experts and fellow travelers

We will be visiting Switzerland during the month end and will be staying at Bern. During our 3 days of visit, we need to :

  1. Travel from Bern to Interlaken - twice so that we can visit Lauterbrunnen, Grindelwald and Mt Jungfrau (top of the Europe)
  2. Travel from Bern to Luzern to visit Mt Titlis

We are a group of 4 with 1 teen and 2 seniors (65+). Considering our planned itinerary, can someone suggest which travel pass will be the best value for money and hopefully covers everything. I tried to look at various alternatives on websites but getting confused.
I would prefer going for a 100% coverage travel pass (if there is one) so that I have peace of mind and no hassle of buying tickets every time.

Looking for some advice/suggestions. Thanks in advance.

V

PS: Are there some discounts if I buy them a week/10 days in advance or doesn't matter at all.

There is no pass that will cover you 100% up to Mount Titlis or Jungfraujoch. But the Berner Overland Pass will cover all of your transportation and give you 50% off roundtrip to Mount Titlis from Engelberg and give you a discounted price of 90CHF roundtrip on the cogwell train from Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch.

It doesn't matter when you buy the pass, there is currently no discount promotion.

Thanks for your response.

When I look at the official website (https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/jungfraujoch-top-of-europe/buy-jungfraujoch-ticket/) to book the "Top of the Europe" tickets, there is no option for BO pass which is odd. This comes to CHF 259. The various discounts are: Swiss Travel pass, Eurail/Interrail, Half-fare, GA Travel card etc but no mention of BO pass.

Same with Mt Titlis website (https://shop.titlis.ch/en/home). Again, no option for BO pass and prices comes to CHF 96. The applicable discounts are: SBB GA/Semi fare, Swiss Travel Pass and Eurail/Interrail Pass. Is Semi-fare same as BO ?

I hope I am not making some very basic mistake of going to wrong websites. Do not want to land in a situation where I opted for some discount assuming that it is BO card which turn out to be wrong.

Do you think that half fare or Swiss travel pass will be a better option ? Thanks again for taking out time to respond.

Don't buy any tickets up to mountain tops in advance.

There is always a chance of zero visibility on top of a mountain or worse rain; so the best practice is to make the decision to go up the night before and the day of based on the weather. And make sure to go as early as possible to avoid crowds and the visibility is much better early in the morning. The worse time to show up is after 10am.

The SBB ticket offices open at 7:00 if you want clarification on the discounts with Berner Oberland Pass.

The Swiss Travel Pass will give you a discount of 20 or 25% off up to Jungfraujoch from Wengen or Grindelwald and 20 or 25% up to Mt Titlis from Engelberg. If you get the Half Fare Card you have to buy tickets for all rides.
