We are looking to explore Lake Constance overnight on our way from Zurich to Heidelberg. Any recommendations on scenic areas with train access?

After arriving at zurich airport we went straight to Lindau on lake constance.
It was beautiful, relaxed and very enjoyable. A great stop over bef zurich airport and on the rail line.

Second the vote for Lindau. Lovely town with easy train access. We stayed at Hotel vis-a-vis which is right across from the train station and 3 minutes to harbor. Clean, comfortable,quiet, has an elevator, nice breakfast. We also took the little sightseeing train/tram which was more fun and informative than it looks and gave us a nice way to see the town and get oriented wthout too much walking ( travelling with seniors). Town is very walkable and we enjoyed walking thru the town. There are also boat trips available but we did not do that. (We were traveling from Zurich to Munich)

Lindau, Germany. But actually right around the corner--Bad Schachen. Incredible breakfast. Like a four star catered ball--but with breakfast foods. Right on the lake. Get a room with a balconey.
