We plan to spend two nights in Basel and take the train to Lucern for one day visit and then return to our hotel in Basel and then on to Frankfurt for a few days. Any hotel suggestions or other travel suggests. We are just at the beginning stages or planning and open to ideas that allow for easy stress free train travel and getting around.

I stayed at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Sept. 2021. The hotel staff was fabulous! The best I have ever encountered.
The hotel is convenient to the main train station and the trams.

Basel has a number of nice hotels right close to the train station, making it easy to take a daytrip by train from there. In addition to the Schweitzerhof mentioned above, take a look at Hotel Euler, which faces a park, and Hotel Gaia.
