Hi all. I'm planning a two week tour of Europe in the fall. I'm flying into Zurich and have 3 nights to spend before I head off to Munich for Oktoberfest. I'm wondering where I should go for that time. It's not long enough to have more than one home base in the country and I'd like to head up into the alps for at least a quick visit, so I'm wondering where I should make home for that time. Appreciate any advice you have!
Take the train from Zurich Airport to Luzern. It only takes an hour. You can do some mountain excursions there.
Or it takes a little longer but you can go Zurich to Lauterbrunnen (via Interlaken). This will put you right in the valley of the famous mountains there. Then you just choose which ones.

Then you have to consider how far do you want to go through to get to Munich. It is far.
Depending upon when in the fall , I recomm Lauterbrunnen Valley if early fall, if later then consider Lucerne with easy daytrips onthe ferry. To the surrounding beauty. All easily done after a short trzin ride from zurich siort.
