We will have 3 full days after leaving Grindenwald with our high schoolers before heading back to Paris and then home. We have the Swiss Travel Pass and are traveling by train.

I presume you mean Grindelwald in the Berner Oberland. Where else will you have been? Do you have 4 nights/3 full days?

We are not their yet but are coming from Salzburg one night in Vitznau one night then Grindenwald for 3 days.

If you are in Grindelwald for 3 days with high schoolers, you'd be amiss not to:
1. Take the cable car to First and walk to Bachalpsee (45 min walk each way) Google image Bachalpsee.
2. Take the other cable car station up to Pfingstegg and ride the Rodelbahn/luge.
3. If they are energetic, take the 6 hr hike from Schynige Platte to First. Finish before 18:00 to catch one of the last cable cars down.
