When do things open back up in the Spring?

We are planning a trip to Switzerland (Zermatt/BO) arriving May 23 for about a week and then moving on to the Dolomites for the first week of June. Will hotels, restaurants, sights, hiking... be open at that point? Thank you so much!

I forgot to mention that we are flying into Milan then spending a few nights in Stresa. We will land in Zermatt/OB on or around March 25th.

Things will be starting to open back up but not completely. For example, Mannlichen in the BO opens May 25, but the walking trail up there is TBD based on snow cover. However, things like Allmendhubel, Schynigge Platte, etc. in the BO don't open until June 8. If you have the option to push back a couple weeks, you'll find a lot more open.

In the BO most restaurants and Hotels should be open by the last week of May. On the 25th the cablecars on the Männliche will start running. But many of the higher altitude hiking trails will not be open yet.

Note that combining Zermatt, BO and Dolomites will be a logistical challenge...

Have you looked up how you’re doing this trip? From Zermatt it’s an 8+ hour train ride. With a car it’s a 6+ hour drive.
