As i research a trip to the Interlaken/Oberland area for 4 nights in early March
i am finding alot of the Cog railways and
some gondolas are seasonal and not open
planning to stay in Wengen
and wasnt sure what might be open to do?

We found it often makes sense to wait until the end of March to go to The Alps. By that time, things are usually thawing out--including the piles of manure outside farmers' houses.
And it's easier to get into and out of Tirol and Austria than Oberland if you run up on bad weather/temperatures early March.
I would expect March to be quite busy with skiers so would think everything would be open.
Yes, prime ski season in the Berner Oberland. Could even be a bit of a party atmosphere.
