What to do with luggage?

First time to Switzerland and have lots to learn about busses and trains for travel. If we are traveling by one of those, what can we do with luggage for the day if not staying at that destination over night? What do others do? Do train stations or bus stops have lockers you can use?

Thanks!

Many train stations do have lockers, and some have left-luggage offices. The SBB (Swiss railways) website tells you if a given station has such lockers. Very small local stations typically won't; end-of-line and junction stations typically will.

If a train/bus station won’t work, do you have a museum or two in mind to visit, unless you’re going hiking in the summer/fall, or in the winter, and are planning to ski for the day, before moving on to where you’re staying that night?

Some museums can hold onto your luggage, or you can sometimes check it for a fee. If such a place is on your agenda, see if they might offer a place to stash your bags that day.

There are also apps such as NannyBags, Stasher, etx that connect you with hotels, restaurants, etc willing to hold your bags for a fee while you sightsee.

But the first thing to do is check the Man in Seat 61 links that Priscilla so kindly provided.
