What happened to the Swiss Transfer tickets? Are they no longer an option?

Hi, I clicked through a few pages and didn't see anything on this but I'm flying into Zurich and then planning on taking a train to Zermatt for a week and then back to Zurich. The old Swiss Transfer tickets were great for this in/out scenario but what takes it's place now? There will be 4 of us traveling and trying to minimize costs (I know, that is an oxymoron for Switzerland).

Any advice would be most appreciated!

Thank you,
Jason

It's been gone for at least a year. Look at the Saver Day Pass. For one low price, unlimited travel in the GA area for a given day. They go on sale beginning 60 days in advance, are nonrefundable, and the price goes up as you get closer to your intended day of travel.

Usually, 60 days out it is 70 CHF for 2nd class day pass without a Half fare card on Saturdays and Sundays, and 52 CHF M-F.

Use a Saver Day Ticket. It is the cheapest option for this route.

Would you recommend buying direct from SBB or from someone like HappyRail, etc?

I try to go direct with the operator. SBB might make that difficult with their credit card vetting process for on-line transactions. Try an American Express Card, or download SBB app and make purchases with that. Much easier from what I have heard.

yes, the online app is easier to use than the website and it has very little issues with foreign credit cards (once you validate it with a 0.01 CHF transaction)
