Wengen vs. Lauterbrunnen with car in Sept.

My husband and I will be in the BO Sept. 9-13. We will have a car because our stay there will be only part of a longer trip for which we will be leasing a car. My question concerns specifics on where it is possible to park a car for 4 nights, if we stay in Wengen, rather than Lauterbrunnen. I have read that the car can be parked at the train station but I'm wanting to hear from someone who has done this. Is it safe to leave a car there? How expensive is it to leave a car for 4 days? Is there a site where I can find this kind of specific information? Thank you.

I've never had any problem parking there - and I have done it several times. Very very easy.

You will be there between the high seasons so there won't be any trouble finding a space, maybe a floor or two up. I find it fun to hear the waterfalls and river passing by as I get out of the car.

Take a ticket on entry and pay as you go back into the car park at the end, before you go back to your car.

Toilets on the ground floor but better ones just in the tunnel towards the Grutschalp/Mürren cable car. The outside ones are for the coach/bus parties.

Easy to follow signs to the Wengen train.

I haven't looked on the website for the current price but from memory it is usually around CHF 10 a day.

Agree with Nigel, super convenient & very safe to park in Lauterbrunnen. Wife & I stayed 2 nights in Mürren last September 11-13. It was cold! We took a wonderful hike with a local guide to visit the Alp Cheese Making operation. We signed up Alpines Sportzentrum Mürren for the hike/visit.

Thank you all for the information about parking and BrewinBruin for the info about the hike.

It appears to have gone up in price, per Sam's link. CHF 17 per day.

You don't need to make a reservation, that's really for peak skiing season. If you make a reservation you can't change it either.
