We are currently in Wengen staying at the Alpenrose, but thought we would venture out one night to eat dinner at a different place. What is a restaurant here with authentic Swiss food that would be great to visit? Thank you.

Bären is one of my favorites. Bernerhof in the village is very Swiss. Berghaus if you want to try out local fish (but I did not check if they are already open. Was a bit in a hurry...). Other options are Eiger, Mira's steakhouse and Da Sina or Caprice if you want a pizza.
Some of the other hotels have great offerings as well. I had a great dinner at the Bellevue once. Beausite has an excellent kitchen too. But there you better call in advance. ask them what tonight's menu is, and reserve.
And there are others. But those are the one's I have eaten at myself.
