Wengen in November...

I'm aware of the down sides of going to Wengen in November, restaurants closed and likely dreary weather and limited transportation services, but if what I am seeing regarding transportation is correct, Wengen will be totally isolated with no transportation in or out. Can someone confirm I am reading this correctly and if so, how do you access Wengen during this time?

You can still take the train from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen. You just can’t go up further to Mannlichen and Kleine Scheidegg.

People live in Wengen. So, they need to be able to get on and off the mountain year round.

Not quite correct, It will be closed from Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg. Lauterbrunnen to Wengen will still be running.

They have to keep train service from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen operating since it is the only way to get there. Last year, a small village elsewhere in the Alps that could only be accessed by funicular, got isolated when the funicular had to be shut down for repairs. Switzerland provided a helicopter so kids could get to school, people get to work and shopping. Since as a village in the GA area, if you had a Swiss Travel Pass, you could have gotten a "free" helicopter ride (after waiting for people who REALLY needed to use it).

You can check operating times at www.sbb.ch/en.

In November pretty much everything is closed in Wengen. If I want to have a beer or eat out I go to Interlaken that time of the year.

Since all you will be doing is take the train down you an as well stay down. Stay in Interlaken would be my suggestion.
