Wengen--how are the beds at Hotel Bellevue?

I am very tempted by Hotel Bellevue in Wengen for its views and hospitality, but I am concerned about the bed. A few people on booking.com commented that the mattresses were hard, old, uncomfortable. Others did say the beds were comfy, but I am not very heavy and not very young, and a hard mattress that pushes back will keep me awake all night. Latex toppers are also a non-starter for me--too hot.

Any other picky sleepers out there that can give detailed commentary about the beds at the Bellevue--or other hotels in Wengen? (Alpenrose, Alpenruhe, Schoenegg, Berghaus, Edelweiss under consideration.)

Thank you!

I'd bet that each room is different, since most European hotels were something else at first

I would not rely on Phred's comment, unless he has stayed there. I have not either, but half of my group stayed there 15 years ago and all the rooms seemed fairly similar. I don't remember any complaints about the beds, except maybe they were too close together, which is pretty standard for European hotels.

Thank you, Sam. I think comfort is a very personal thing; one person's dream is the next person's nightmare.

I tend to look for multiples of the same complaint. Where there is smoke, there may be fire.
