Wengen from Paris

What's the most efficient way to get to Wengen from Paris? I'm a little overwhelmed with all of the options - we are planning to spend 3 days in the Alps but coming from and departing back to Paris....do we take the speed train and from there go to Wengen/Jungfrau? Does that break it up? Or do we take the train from Paris to Interlaken and then to Wengen?

You can take the train from Paris to Wengen. It will inevitably involve a few transfers, but those are a normal and expected feature of train travel.

Just go to www.sbb.ch, where you can see times, and prices, and buy tickets. The best route is Paris - Basel - Interlaken - Lauterbrunnen - Wengen.

Thank you! Would you recommend staying in Wengen vs Interlaken or somewhere else if we wanted to see mannlichen, easy hikes, waterfalls, caves?

How long is that train route altogether? Is it more efficient to take speed train from Paris to Interlaken first?

When it comes to train travel you should not try to second guess what the best route is.

Just use the planner on www.sbb.ch, and you will have the exact time and schedule presented to you. I would suggest you go to that site first before asking more questions as you will quickly find out that questions like "do we go to Interlaken first" are answered there.

Wengen is a lot nicer than Interlaken. Wengen is quieter, as there is very little traffic, and has nice views, and you are up in the mountains, as in stead of on the valley floor.

EDIT: We are soon getting more guests in our AirBnB. The previous groups that stayed with us all came from Paris, and the next one comes from Paris as well. Judging buy their arrival times I guess that the 10:22 from Paris to Basel is a popular choice for making that trip, and it is the one I would take as well...

Thank you! I do see now that the planner maps everything out for you. That is helpful - looking for a place has been another issue and my fault for waiting until now (we decided to add the Alps to our trip which is at the end of this month).

I see there is an airbnb in Wilderswil. Is that near Wengen or accessible to go to the sights from there?
