Wedding in Freienbach then 10 days of touring

I have checked past posts but they seem to be outdated. We will be using the trains to get to different places. We are 70 and do not plan on many hikes.
We are more interested in sightseeing.
After the wedding, we are planning to spend 4-5 days in Lauterbrunnen and 4-5 days in Lucerne. Is that too many days in either place?

Would it be better to stay all the days in Lauterbrunnen or 1-2 days in Mürren?

Should we buy a pass and which one?
Lots to figure out before we leave
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance

When will this trip take place? There are lots of possibilities for nice walks, if there isn’t snow on the ground.

So snow won’t be a problem! Do you have the Rick Steves Switzerland guide? He gives some nice walking tours of Zürich, Mürren, Lucerne, Lauterbrunnen and Gimmelwald. Do you plan to go up the Schilthorn and/or the Jungfraujoch? You might enjoy boat rides on Lake Lucerne and Lake Brienz. I wouldn’t split up the time between Lauterbrunnen and Mürren. Choose one or the other. They are very close, and it’s easy to get back and forth. Lauterbrunnen is in a valley, and Mürren is up in the mountains. I’m 70 myself and was there in May of 2019 for two weeks with two of my daughters. I chose the 15 day Swiss Travel Pass and my daughter used a Half Fare Card. She thought it came out about even. I preferred the convenience of the Pass, but she thought it was very easy to use her phone to buy tickets. We stayed in Mürren, and there was still some snow on the ground, but you should be able to take advantage of some of the walks around there. Whatever you decide, you should have a wonderful time. It’s a beautiful area!

Check the posts here- there is a 25% off discount for the Swiss Travel Pass if purchased in the month of July!!!

Also- stay in Murren at least 4 nites- the mountain weather is fickle, and you do want to see those peeks!

And- don't skip Lucerne- but get a hotel on the river with a view of the Chapel Bridge.

Safe travels!

Thank you Kathy.
I will be buying the Rick Steve’s Switzerland book tomorrow so that I can figure out walking tours.
Not sure where we will be staying yet. I will definitely decide on either Murren or Lauterbrunnen.
We are planning on seeing Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch. Is Interlaken worth a visit too?

Thank you Pat.
I was planning on getting the travel pass . I wasn’t sure which one would be the best. I’ll research it and figure out which will suit our needs.
We are definitely staying in Luzern and will look into a hotel overlooking the chapel bridge.

We weren’t that impressed with Interlaken. I believe the Rick Steves Guide offers a quick self-guided walking tour, if you want to check it out. We just passed through on our way to somewhere else.

Murren is up in the mountains and Lauterbrunnen is in the valley. Wengen is also a great place to stay and is up in the mountains on the other side of the valley from Murren. It has a larger commercial area than Murren. While Lauterbrunnen is beautiful being up in the mountains is better.
