Am I reading local weather right? Low 20's and snow?
You don't say where you are looking or whether you are using Centigrade of Fahrenheit.
So if you are looking at weather ON the Jungfraujoch mountain peak, yes that could be.
But I suspect you want to see weather at normal altitudes, so here you are:
http://www.meteocentrale.ch/de/europa/schweiz/wetter-lauterbrunnen/details/N-3515134/
and it says for Friday for Lauterbrunnen, sunny and about 13 degrees C (which is about 55 deg. F)
Steve,
It's possible the readings you quoted are accurate, if you're referring to the Jungfraujoch. Our local ski hill here received 25 cm of new snow the other day, so that wouldn't be unusual at other high elevation places. This will provide a good view of weather in that area - https://www.jungfrau.ch/en-gb/live/weather/ .
When are you actually looking to go to the Jungfraujoch? If it's not today or tomorrow, there's no point at looking at the weather there. Weather in mountain areas is both rapidly changeable and hard to predict, as you'll learn when you're there. So, check webcams and forecasts and ask at your hotel when you're there, but don't worry about it beforehand.
Where in Switzerland are you talking about?
I am in Basel now (11:00 Friday), and its currently 18°C. This is cooler than the last few days, we have had high 20's for the last 2 weeks.
18°C is warm, t-shirt and ice cream weather, definitely no snow.
That is in a city, in a valley, the higher you go the cooler it gets. In the Alps there are glaciers that stay below zero all year, and they do summer skiing.
Here is a webcam for the top of Jungfrau (3,466 m above sea level): https://panocam.skiline.cc/jungfraujoch
