Walking tour Switzerland

I am interested in doing a self-guided, inn to inn walking tour in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. Can anyone recommend a tour company? I would also be interested in a company that would transfer luggage.

Thank you in advance.

There are a number of companies that will set up a self-guided inn to inn trek for you. I cannot personally recommend one, as we do village based independent hiking in Switzerland. But I checked a few companies that I have heard of, or that friends have used.

Mac’s Adventures is a UK company that offers self-guided hiking itineraries all over. However, their “Best of the Berner Oberland” hiking trip is more village-based, with day hikes from 2 different hotels in the area. I could not get their other BO trips to load. So I am not posting a link, but you can find them with Google.

A friend used Distant Journeys to plan and book her Tour dunMont Blanc hike and would recommend them. MHowever,,it appears they do not offer luggage transport.

Ryder-Walker has an excellent reputation for their guided trips, and I would expect them to a good job with self-guided trips as well. They say they do offer luggage transport.

I will also note that I know a number of people who have done this entirely on their own, booking the inns and huts themselves. However, they carried all their gear and did not use luggage transport.

One possibility to consider, if you cannot find anything suitable, is to do the hike from Mürren to Kandersteg on the via Alpina on your sons, spending 3-4 nights along the way with an overnight pack. You can send the rest of your luggage from Mürren to Kandersteg by train, and it will be waiting for you when you arrive. The Swiss transport system is well set up to do this.
