Years ago we were on a Rick Steves' tour and I want to recreate a walk that we took. We stayed in Gimmelwald and walked through a small town, through meadows and cows along a fairly flat path. We either ended in a town and rode down to the valley or maybe rode down to the town. Can anyone help me identify that route and the name?

You may be thinking of Murren, which is uphill from Gimmelwald and is perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley. It may be accessed by the Stechelberg gondola. The North Face trail is accessible from Murren, but is not particularly flat; it is spectacularly beautiful. Another trail that is flatter and leads out of the town of Murren is the Murren to Grutschalp trail, which ends at a funicular which will take you down to the Lauterbrunnen Valley. I hope this helps.
