We have never used VRBO but we see what look like some nice options for Lucerne. We are wondering is this a trustworthy way to rent a place? Has anyone had experience using it particularly in Switzerland?

Is there a reason you're concerned about Switzerland?
VRBO is usually highly reliable, and Switzerland is off the scales of reliable, as countries go. Can you specify your concern?

Have used VRBO many times in Switzerland, UK, France, Italy, and the US and never a fraudulent or dishonest experience.
Read reviews carefully and only rent properties with current reviews. Look for pictures that give realistic views of rooms, especially bathrooms! Sometimes the pictures are all lovely external shots (see the mountain!) or a staged bottle of wine and flowers. I want to know if there are bedside tables and a place to relax plus a shower big enough for a human being (some barely accommodate a hamster).

Nickelini no we aren’t concerned with Switzerland in particular. We have just never used it and that would be our first try. Given that we are three adults we thought some of the options would be more comfortable than a regular hotel. But to be honest some seemed almost too good to be true and we were wondering how truthful the listings were in general.
