Does anyone know how much time it takes for the ferry from Vitznau to Luzern?
We have Golden Pass Reservations that departs at 9:00 am & wonder if it's even possible & would be better off cancelling our hotel reservation in Vitznau & booking another one in Luzern.

The boat from Vitznau to Luzern is about an hour and a half , the ride is beautiful , but as I am uncertain as to an early departure time , changing your hotel might be a wise choice .

I'm seeing a weekday-only bus + boat connection from Vitznau to Weggis then Weggis to Luzern in the fall schedule, but it's weekdays only. Better change your hotel I guess. Or ask your Vitznau hotel for advice?

You can look at the schedule at www.sbb.ch/en.
It shows taking a bus at 7:54 to Kuessnacht am Rigi, then taking a train to Luzern, arriving on track 4 or 9 depending on the day of the week at 8:54, then getting the Luzern-Interlaken Express (first leg of the Golden Pass) on track 12 at 9:06.

Is a ride on the "Golden Pass" train (which share the tracks with other passenger non-goldenpass trains) worth the deviation and maybe not even seeing Vitznau and Weggis? I really enjoyed Weggis and the transportation on the lake boats. Personally I wouldn't deviate just to get a seat on a specific train.
