My family of 5 will be in Switzerland for about 5-6 days in June. We have kids that are 12, 14 and 16 years old.
We will be in Lucerne for 2 days and staying in Murren for 4 days. We have a car and will be driving, parking in Lauterbrunnen and then staying up in Murren. We don't plan on doing a lot of museums, mainly outdoor stuff. We plan on going up to Schilthorn and hiking and traveling around Berner Oberland. From Murren we are going back into Germany.
I am trying to decide if it is worth it to buy the Swiss Travel Card. We would have to purchase it for myself, my husband and my 16 year old daughter at a cost of $762. My younger 2 could travel for free on the Family Card. Most of the upper rails in Berner Oberland are not covered by the Swiss Pass and therefore I would have to pay for them anyway. However, with the Swiss Family Card my younger 2 are covered, without it, I would have to pay each time for a family of 5.
I can't find the costs for the smaller transits like Murren to Grindewald, etc so I can't do the math to compare the costs.
Please help!! My trip is in 3 weeks!
