Hi,
I would like to use stopovers smartly. On my way from Luzern to Murren via Interlaken, is it reasonable to stop in Meiningen to see the Reichenbach Falls? How would you recommend going about that (seeing that I'll be leaving Luzern early in the day). Also, from Murren to Zermatt via Interlaken and Montreux, is it reasonable to stop in Montreux to see the Chateau de Chillon? I'll have my luggage with me as well on both of these legs. Any suggestions you may have are appreciated. Thank you.
From Muerren to Zermatt you do not go anywhere near Montreux, unless you want to make a detour. It is not on the way. Have a look at the map:

The usual route is Muerren to Interlaken to Spiez to Brig, where you can board a train to Zermatt.
I want to go through Montreux. I guess I could have been more specific in saying that I'm wanting to do the Golden Pass route.
Consider checking your luggage through to your destination station so you don't have to deal it all day: http://www.sbb.ch/en/station-services/services/luggage-and-flight-luggage/express-luggage.html.
If you decide to visit Chateau Chillon in Montreux, there are storage lockers at the train stations for your luggage in Montreux and Vevey.
Thank you for the considerations.
