For a number of reasons, I have had to cancel my fall trip to Europe. I always make my own hotel reservations. I have received cancellation confirmations from all but one. I have emailed Hotel Federale in Lugano three times and left a note on their website, but still no word from them. I booked for free cancellation up to 24 hours before arrival. I even sent an email to the Lugano tourist agency to ask for assistance, but have not heard from them. Any ideas? Anyone stay at this hotel before? I have not.
Have you tried calling them?
Are you trying to recover a deposit? My first reaction is that the hotel is closed and no one is answering emails.
There website shows NO rooms available until August 3rd. Suspect they are closed. Phones work great for issues like this; if you get a recording or answering service you will know they are closed.
their website announces that they have reopened.

Thanks everyone! No, I hadn't tried calling. I did not give a deposit but they have my credit card info to charge me one night if I am a "no show". My question to the travel agency was to see if the hotel was closed. Maybe that is closed also. Feel bad about all the loses these places are incurring. Feel bad about my loss too. :( Thanks again!
I unfortunately, also had to cancel my reservation at Hotel Federale. I couldn't get the link to cancel to work, so I did a reply to my confirmation email and then received confirmation of my cancelation.
Thanks, @rsbailey70. I am so embarrassed about this! I ended up calling the hotel as advised on the forum. The gentleman who answered the phone knew my name right away, and said that they answered me with every message I sent, even tried the WhatsApp (which I no longer have)! He asked if I had checked my spam mail!!!! And, of course, all their responses were there! I apologized profusely and he was very gracious about my error. I haven't stayed there before, but I certainly will on my next visit! Thanks again to all who responded!
Glad to hear all worked out, but yes, that spam box needs regular (as in daily) checking. I often email invitations for interviews for jobs, and imagine their distress that it ended up in the spam box that they don't check. Their losses.
Lesson learned! :)
