I have been trying to get the standard fares for Swiss travel by train by using the website https://www.sbb.ch/en/timetable.html but I can't figure out how to see the cost for each trip. It gives me the route and travel time, but not the cost. Can someone please assist?
I give an example, Zürich airport to Lauterbrunnen.
- Enter from: Zurich airport (it comes up with the correct name of the station: Zürich Flughafen).
- To: Lauterbrunnen
- Date: whatever you want, I entered 9th April 2018.
- Time: again whatever you want, I entered 10:00
- Click on "Search for connection"
- It shows me a list of trains. At the right, against each one is a red box saying "from CHF 31.40". This is the price if you have a Half Price Card. The "full price" will be double this.
I admit since the site changed some time back, it is more orientated to selling you tickets than listing all the price options.
Key is clicking on the red ticket icon to the right of the train time.
You can also see prices for selected routes on our map at https://www.ricksteves.com/travel-tips/transportation/trains/switzerland-rail-passes, taken directly from SBB, with more notes on lift prices in the text below that.
If you can't find the normal prices then you probably aren't aware of SuperSaver fares which are SIGNIFICANTLY reduced. So just be aware they exist and can 50% reduction from regular prices.
