My husband and I just retired and we are planning a trip to Europe. It will be our first time in Europe. We are looking for recommendations and guidance on our itinerary and transportation
- We fly into Munich and plan on spending 3 nights in Mittenwald we have reservations at Pension Schalbennestl. We have some flexibility here so we are thinking about staying in Munich one night and checking out the city and then heading to Mittenwald.
- Switzerland/Italy: from MIttenwald we are thinking about going to Lake Lugano and have 3 nights - I haven't booked this yet - still not sure what we want to do for these 3 nights, thinking about Salzburg instead of Lake Lugano?
- Exploring the Alps, Jungfra and Schilthorn: we are staying in Lauterbrunnen at the hostel for 2 nights and in Gimmelwald at the hostel for 2 nights
- Italy, exploring CInque Terre and staying in Vernazza for 2 nights
- Exploring the Tuscany region: we are stay outside of Siene for 2 nights and want to do some biking a see the country side and vineyards
- Rome: staying 2 nights and then flying home
Does this travel route make sense?
We are thinking we will take the train but would consider renting a car. Looking for any thoughts on transportation.
We are looking for feed back on any aspect of our trip.
