Travelling to Geneva from Italy

Hello,
We will be traveling to Italy with our 2 children, ages 4 and 6. While there, we will be making a day trip and driving (from Piacenza, Italy) to Geneva and staying over 1 night. Does anyone have any recommendations for a family friendly hotel in Geneva?

Also, any family must do sights/places to visit with boys ages 4 and 6?

Any advice and recommendations is greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

According to www.viamichelin.com Piacenza to Geneva is:

Distance: 385 km with 340 km on motorways
Time: 04h25 with 03h26 on motorways
Costs: 172.68 € with a Petrol vehicle, Toll 86.30 € | Petrol 46.38 € | Road tax 40 €

That time is assuming no stops, so add at least 30 minutes.

This is a long way to go for just one night (2 half days) in Geneva. Geneva is nice, but not one of the highlights of Switzerland.
Unless you have a good reason to go to Geneva, I would spend 2 nights+ in the Alps, or choose somewhere nearer in northern Italy.
