Traveling with kids

Hello Everyone !

We just booked a trip to Switzerland for July 2025. We are a family of four traveling with a 4 year old and 1 year old at the time of travel. We are staying for 10 nights and we are struggling to the find the best area(s) to stay in. I am not sure if we can stay in one base area and travel from there to all the amazing towns. Please provide your best recommendations on where to stay, where to book, and anything else insightful. I appreciate any help ! Thank you in advance.

Sounds like fun. I am also traveling with my 1 yr old and 4 yr old this summer to Switzerland. We are staying in Bettmeralp and in Wengen. I have not been to Bettmeralp but I heard it is very family friendly.
What things do you enjoy doing as a family? Staying in any area (Berner Oberland, Lucerne, etc) still give you the option of taking day trips.
Book your accommodations soon as most things have filled up.
Have a fun time. I agree that minimizing the number of places you stay works best for kids.
I had posted a question earlier about where to visit and got some good responses. Some might be helpful for you too.

Don't rule out glamping (or renting a camper van). Campgrounds in Switzerland can be very comfortable, with cabins and lots of amenities (including fresh bread or pastries every morning). Also, other kids to play with. For example, we stayed at a great campground on the lake outside Lucerne. We took the bus into town and walked back. The transportation museum and a mini-golf course were next door. Here's the info on cabins at that particular campground:
